About The Farmgate Café

Farmgate CafĂ© in Cork city is a unique venue, providing a relaxed atmosphere in Ireland’s oldest covered food market, for over 25 years.
We create menus that reflect the season and our region. We source the freshest ingredients from the Food Stalls of the English Market, and work closely with trusted small-scale market gardeners, as well as the best artisan food and wine producers we can find.

Seasonally focused food. Market fresh ingredients

Centuries old traditional, seasonal, regional, even ‘forgotten’ foods are at the core of the Farmgate CafĂ© ethos, and also form a visible link between the menu and the wonderful array of produce downstairs. This allows Farmgate CafĂ© to provide a uniquely Irish eating experience both reflecting and (we hope) playing a small role in a vibrant Irish food culture truly embracing how good indigenous ingredients and food products are.
